Breeze Technologies takes Gold at UK Tech Rocketship Awards
Breeze Technologies has taken gold as the overall winner of the first European Tech Rocketship Awards, an international competition organized by the UK’s Department for International Trade (DIT). The Grand Finale saw eight previous Category Winners – of which Breeze Technologies had succeeded in the Clean Growth category – battle it out in live ‘dragons den’ style pitches in front of a panel of VIP judges. The objective of the awards is to accelerate the global growth of the winners, through personally-curated direct meetings with the UK’s world-leading ecosystem of investors, incubators and tech clusters. Overall, the competition yielded more than 650 startup entries from 30 countries across Europe and Israel.
The judging panel was headed by the UK’s Minister for Investment, Lord Grimstone of Bescobel, with Anthony Allcock (Chief Information and Digital Officer of British Airways), and experienced entrepreneurs and dealmakers Priya Guha (Venture Partner, Merrian Ventures), Shalini Khemka (Founder & CEO of E2Exchange), Jude Ower MBE (Founder & CEO of Playmob). The Awards sought entries from every corner of Europe in a bid to identify the brightest and best technology companies and help them on their journey towards internationalisation via the UK, offering the opportunity to experience a fully tailored business development programme.
The entries were judged by across 17 country and regional finals, before going through to two semi-finals and now the grand finale. The objective of the campaign is to facilitate market entry and establishment of UK operations of high potential tech businesses, creating jobs and growth for the UK. The Tech Rocketship Awards Europe targeted established European scale-ups who offer innovative, technology-led solutions across a wide spectrum of industries and are ready to internationalise. Jury member Jude Ower MBE explained Breeze’s selection as the Gold winner: “Breeze Technologies solve a global issue and is very much in line with the United Kingdom’s Sustainable Development Goals, and they will be very much in tune with UK’s policies.”
